



This portion of the contest is open to anyone who is not judging. It is best f you have already submitted something to revise in the first part, but if not you can note =VertigoArt with the piece and he will determine whether or not you may participate with that piece. Ideally the piece you are revising is a free write that you are taking from conception to perfection, but any piece that is not polished fully will do.
The winner of the first portion of this contest will be on even ground with everyone else in this portion.
Entries must include a link to this contest article in the artist's comment.
Entries must include a thumb or link of some sort to the original draft.
Entries must be written specifically for this contest, submitted to dA on or after August 1, 2012.
Entries must adhere to dA's Submissions and Etiquette policies.
Mature content is allowed, provided it is marked with all appropriate flags.
1 entry per deviant; collaborations are not allowed.
Length Restrictions Apply: 50 lines for poetry (not including line breaks) and 1000 words for prose. Include a line or word count in your artist's comment.
To submit to the contest, first make sure your deviation follows all of the rules listed above. Once you've check that, you can submit your piece to the Write and Revise Part 2 folder in #Daily-Lit-Deviations. You do NOT need to be a member of the group to submit. But we'd love it if you did join!
Entries should have correct grammar (unless stylistic considerations enhance the piece) and good flow. Entries will be judged primarily on impact to the reader.

To what extent can the piece be revised exactly? For example so long as the original spirit of the piece is kept in place but its practically re-written, would it still be applicable for the second half of the contest?
If the point of this contest is to take a hastily-written piece and improve it as much as possible, I'm guessing that would be alright, but it seemed worth checking. I'm guessing others--particularly those who may not have got anything in for Part 1--might also be interested to know for sure.
