Write and Revise Contest: Part 1

You thought we were going to let you rest after the Summer Contest, huh? Wrong! We're back with a two-parter to hopefully get you both creating and editing, as all good writers must. This contest is brought to you by VertigoArt, who has rejoined the ranks of DLD as our contest and affiliate admin! Please go give him some love.

Part 1: Go Wild!

The first part of the contest is relatively simple: write something. It can be a journal, a stream of consciousness, a scrap of a poem, an idea you've had for ages or one that comes to you in a burst of inspiration.

This part of the contest is open  from August 11th to September 11th, 2012 October 11th, 2012.

Rules

Entries must include a link to this contest article in the artist's comment.
Entries must be written specifically for this contest, submitted to dA on or after August 1, 2012.
Entries must adhere to dA's Submissions and Etiquette policies.
Mature content is allowed, provided it is marked with all appropriate flags.
2 entries per deviant; collaborations are not allowed.
For this part of the contest, there are no length restrictions. Keep in mind that you'll be revising and expanding one of your entries for the second part of the contest.

How to Submit

To submit to the contest, first make sure your deviation follows all of the rules listed above. Once you've check that, you can submit your piece to the Write and Revise Part 1 folder in Daily-Lit-Deviations. You do NOT need to be a member of the group to submit. But we'd love it if you did join!

Judging

Entries should have correct grammar (unless stylistic considerations enhance the piece) and good flow. Entries will be judged primarily on impact to the reader.
