For the ChildrenIf my spirit flies at the end of Winter
go down every day to the soil and watch for the sprouts to rise
watch their green fresh moist leaves reach upwards to the sun
know in your heart their tender roots wriggle downwards to water
and if you think of me then, perhaps I am there
If my spirit flies at the end of Spring
go down every day to the moss beside the bubbling wood brook
feel your body sink into the soft greenness as you listen with care
know in your heart the song of the brook carries the healing of fire
and if you think of me then, perhaps I am there
If my spirit flies at the end of Summer
go down every day to the meadow where the fires burn bright
let your body feel warmth on one side and the other cool then turn
know in your heart the soothing warmth and crisp cool ride on air.
and if you think of me then, perhaps I am there
If my spirit flies at the end of Autumn
go up to the top of the lonely mountain where the world lies below
turn and turn slowly to hear the echoes of col

For the Children by wh0rem0ans

This poem is a wonderful
affirmation of the actuality of
spirit and love; a guide for how to
realize their presence in all things,
in all seasons.

Uphill CreaturesClocks run on time made for sparing,
metal left in a sluiceway rots in,
pain forced upon a slender body,
pinpricks flow with it—
the archway of an instant
Maybe overcome by lurching need
wanted for a theft, more so
Time watched dynasties and loved ones fall
as it walked by, infallible

Uphill Creatures by TaylorFails

This one may be short,
but there is nothing simple or
sweet about it. I love that the
author did not choose any cliché
metaphors or similes to get her
ideas across, but instead dared to
run with what she saw.

Think Backward a SpellThe forgotten little things…
Like sleeping in Summer warmed grass and listening to child's play,
Or watching a rainstorm and wondering how God does it.
The forgotten little things…
Like spending time with your kid sibling,
Playing dolls, Legos, or dress up.
The forgotten little things…
Like looking upon a sunrise or sunset
And feeling the tears of beauty travel across your face.
The forgotten little things…
Like spending dinner together at the table,
Or sleeping under an ocean of stars,
Or going to the beach in Winter just to see a difference in waters.
The forgotten little things…
Like begging to go outside and witness the pulchritude of the full moon,
Or wanting to stay up and watch the fireflies dance.
The forgotten little things…
Like reading under a tree,
Or singing to that tree,
Because you wanted to help it grow.
The forgotten little things,
Like spending an afternoon with Mommy or Daddy,
Like sleeping over at Grandma's because her stories are the b

Think Backward a Spell
I was charmed by the relaxed
nature of this poem. It is, in itself,
a little vacation from worrying.
I imagine shedding a sweater in favor
of a lighter garment for the first time
in spring. The ending line is silly and
light-hearted, but that's what this
whole poem is about.

The Forecaster by kittykittyhunter

The suggester summed it up perfectly;
":devkittykittyhunter writes a story with
a talent for subtlety and creates a
delightful piece with a wonderful
background of mythology, a beautiful
style of narration and an ending
you'll not easily forget."

if you've ever seen the ocean.on the first day of school, she saw him. he was staring out the window in her english class. he had a sense to him that he just needed to get out. go somewhere. anywhere.
on the third day of school, she talked to him. he was sitting at an outside lunch table, his head down, headphones in ears.
"what are you listening to?" she asked, nervously waiting for an answer. he looked up.
"it's none of your business."
-
she didn't give up asking. she asked for the rest of the first week. by her nineth day asking he finally answered.
"i'm not listening to anything. it's the loudest music ever."
his answered confused her, and she stayed away.
-
after going a week without talking to him, he came up to her during english class.
"if you'd like to listen to nothing with me during lunch, you can."
"okay, i will." she replied. she was a girl of few words.
-
there friendship grew closer, always awkward conversations with hidden meanings.
-
it was a cold night with snow on the ground. as they walked, she
