Once in a Moon.O'er the twilit isles they soared,
weaving their hearts in the stratus.
He bore the rain in his azure scales.
She, the breath of air in her ivory eyes.
They intertwined within the clouds,
showering the soil below.
Wound about each other like vines,
their kiss precipitates the growth
of life from the dirt. Green rows
spring from the gardens in time.
With morning sun, the parted skies
linger with mist of whispered goodbyes.

The thematics of love in this piece has been
explored with the use of archaic lexis, beautiful semantics
and the imagery is just profound. The language really hits
the reader in the heart, and the full impact of love is felt.
Beautiful, absolutely breath-taking.

~lucifers-uke tells a wonderfully creepy tale
about a demon in disguise, and the woman he chooses as

WardogI can't let him see that I'm scared. I have to be a good boy and he doesn't like it when I'm scared. Look at my tail wagging, Mr. Vance. I'm happy to be here.
"Getting excited, are we? Go on then. Help them out with a little distraction."
Oh no, he wants me to go closer to all those guns. Be a good boy be a good boy.
So loud. They're all yelling and shooting and it's hurting my ears and wish it would stop. I can feel my heart beating faster. I don't like that. Stay in the shadows stay in the shadows.
I can smell them. Five different people. Men. Sweat, gunpowder, blood.
Be a monster.
Their eyes can't see in the dark. I'm saf

It is difficult to give a narrative voice to an animal,
without loosing the sense of the creature. In this short story,
*Leonca manages to create that voice well, finding
the balance between characterisation and informative voice.

The story of Icarus and his father is a well-known
tale. This poem portrays the myth wonderfully; the emotion
and imagery are splendid and allow the reader to feel as
if they are living every moment themselves.
