"Somewhere" By warzonestoic

Simple but full of emotion and meaning. The use
of enjambememt is a metaphor of what "somewhere" may
mean for some people. The lexis used is very emotive
and dramatic. Well done.

Heaven and Her Stars...I fall asleep at midnight,
Counting the stars up in the sky.
One, two, seven.
Eighty-nine and forty thousand.
Wishing upon the brightest on the horizon,
Please ease my pain.
I fall asleep on the skyline,
First class in a 747 jet headed for the countryside.
Tens of thousands above the sky,
One more step closer to heaven and her stars.
Still wishing in the brightest on the horizon,
‘Cause tomorrow is a better day.
I fall asleep in my twin size bed,
Ignoring the sheep and counting my breaths instead.
I’m safe in home sweet home,
Not that much closer to heaven and her stars,
But still wishing.
I wake up in la la land.
No transportation required.
Just your mind.
I can be a better me.
I can be the best I can be.
I can take my pain away.
And my condolences to say,
That I find this rhyme and life cliché
In a world where my wish does come true.

“Heaven and Her Stars” by vertigoevie

The ending to "Heaven and Her Stars," is very
optimistic. I am reminded of the mere fact that I can
be in charge of the pain of receive. I can make things
better. I love how vertigoevie bolds the 'I' in
the last stanza, making it stand out.

drowning mermaidsa body of water lays crumpled on the side of the road,
the ambulance lights gyrate and the shrieks of the seabirds
are drowned out by the wailing siren, saaave meee, saaave meee.
the cops mill around, doodling stick figures and question marks on their pads,
and no one really knows anything about the bodies unaccounted for.
if it looks like a fish, smells like a fish,
it's probably a dead girl wrapped in plastic bags,
that's what the police men are laughing about over coffee at denny's that night.
she looked beautiful, like a mermaid, one of the rookies muttered,
a thin boy with downcast eyes staring into the depths of his mug.
his skin was gray, his eyes were gray, his shirt was gray,
he was all gray and empty and totally alone with his collegues.
hey, boy, cheer up. you find a lot of stiffs doing this job.
one of them says, thumping him on the back. we're all gonna die, eventually.
the boy only continues to stare into his drink.
later, at night, the gray bo

always a sucker for an alternate point of view,
i was immediately drawn to the title of this piece,
and the body of the work delivers the goods. great
imagery and flow make it a keeper.

"The Meaning of Life" by Osiristhrasher06

A very powerful piece which makes great use of meter
and pacing to put the reader through a full range of emotions.
It maintains a constant and gripping tension, ending in a
terrifying climax. A truly gripping read.

It's the OCD, My LoveWhile washing my hands, I thought of you, replaying our conversations in my head. But it's okay, it's alright, I had to wait for the water to warm up anyways. You see, it's one of those faucets where the water gets warmer the longer it's running.
I began to think of you because of the smell of the soap, the smell of chemicals. Remember that time you convinced me to sit in that hot tub with you? You told me the chemicals destroyed all the germs in the water, all those germs from all those people sitting in it. But the chemicals destroyed them. "For sure," you said. I did some research later and discovered that that wasn't true, but I don't mind that you lied to me. You probably just didn't know.
I always was shy around you. Part of it was just because I'm always shy, but you had something more. Your face is symmetric, did you know that? Most people think faces are symmetrical, but they rarely are. Normally one eye is smaller, or there's a birthmark, or something. But your face was perfe

"It's the OCD, my love" by SeekingDivinity

Just because you suffer from OCD, doesn't mean you
could still find love with another person. A beautiful,
touching tale for all those who read it.
