This poem has a unique format and great message.
Not all free-verse poems have rhythm, but this one uses
it well to create an amazing flow. Its vivid imagery
all leads up to a strong, well-made point.

i tore apart galaxies.daniel:
you were a meteor.
you were breathless kisses and a fleeting night of passion. you were blinding, but you were brief; a burning collision of impromptu fireworks and blazing desire. but when i came back looking for heat, all that was left was a cold grey stone, a disappointing shadow of everything i believed that we could be.
jesse:
you were a shooting star.
you were a lopsided smile and a whirlwind summer. you were beautiful, but you were ephemeral too; gone before i could reach out, fragile hands and good intentions, to catch you as you fell. there was only enough time to wish upon your blazing trail for you to stay, and a long night without you to realize that wishes don't come true.
sebastien:
you were the moon.
you were expensive presents and two long years of rain. you were solid, but you were never what i needed; a stack of burned out matches where i was searching for a roaring fire. i needed you to hold me up, but all you did was sink with me. in the end, you needed me t

A great poem, written in a from of a letter
to different boys in the author's life. The
author compares each boy to a different sky object,
and the reasons they are like these beautiful
things of nature. And although these things
are gorgeous, they have their faults.

This poetical short story uses exquisite details
to draw the reader into the world of the character.
The minute scene is real, to the extent you can picture
each corner and remember similar scents. Within this
a story is woven, unspoken but resounding.
A wonderful descriptive piece.

reminiscencei lie on grass the colour of watermelon skins as the morning tears against the grass stain the back of my jeans. as i listen to the pitter patter of bare soles hitting pebbly stone pavements, i wish, i wish, i wish. i wish you had never left.
when i start to count the scratches on my nailbeds, i think of the time you left and how i wasn't paying attention. i think of how my eyes were so blurry, i was so glad i couldn't see the look on your face, and your worn sneakers blended in with the paved crevices on the sidewalk brick.
i never took my time saying goodbye. i never said anything at all while you left.
i remember now. how i wanted to get it over with, smudge my memories like paint and the mascara i wore in an attempt to look pretty for the "last day." when the reflections of clouds on the glass window behind your car grow farther away, i realize i can't inhale. these boxes of endless memories stack upon my shoulders - every smile, every tear, every inside joke weighs down on my hear

This piece is very unique, a short-but-sweet style
that puts the reader inside the mind of the writer.
slowpokish creates a story that makes you feel
sad (and then you wonder why you're sad)
and excited at the same time.
