lapsus calamiyou're smooth, you know
all soft skin and and long fingers,
cupping my cranium and sliding through
the tendrils of my hair

everything about you screams dangerous,
the way your smile starts--
languid and lazy because
your lips speak in secrets
passed through dry presses of mouths and
shaky exhales

you're ineffable,
the way your chin tips up
just so
to show the expansion of your neck,
the littering of freckles that create
constellations and desire

i'd trace the lines of your body
with careful and practiced touches,
i'd turn you into poetry--
transform your lungs into lyrics
your ribs into rhymes,
your tongue into text and
your spine into som

mindset of a writer lost in romanticism."

From the suggester: "Despite being a very short story,
I feel as though this really deals with a pretty big theme.
The language is suitably grand, and the ending suitably blunt.
All in all, a well-constructed piece."

Think of Your Sins Los Angeles was a peculiar place. It was peculiar because you could neither say it was beautiful or ugly. But, you had to admit it was both. You could come here and find the kind of scum that made a planet as beautiful as Earth ugly. I often wondered how evil something so sentient needed to be in order to do this.
Turn your head and there was a two hour conversation about religion at the bus stop or a real girl made from the ground up that you thought only existed in cold weather cities. Okay. Obviously this is not the first place you come to see this shit. You're better off in Boston, New York, Montreal— the point is, this place is no

Suggester writes: I find this a strong, empathic,
stark, and very well-realized urban vignette.

A lovely acrostic poem about the

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantART community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you :+fav: the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community and these artists.
