Poetry

Alpenglowearth decided to take ballet lessons
from the moon--as you see
moon can spin beautifully
and earth wasn't jealous,
no,
earth had lots of things to grow
but earth took ballet lessons anyways
earth decided to do a pirouette
with moon--they had a tête-à-tête
"turn and bow down to the sun--
sun taught me, and we mustn't
forget to be grateful"
but earth was new to spinning so fast
earth spun too far left and passed
sun on its merry way
who shone brighter in surprise
glaciers on earth's mountaintops
caught the beams and shivered
in delight
they glowed crimson
sweet and bright
but only for a moment's time
as earth righted on its feet
earth found spinning rather neat
our solstice passed
earth learned ballet
and glaciers learned

"Alpenglow" by IdesOfDecember

A clever poem on a celestial scale -
IdesOfDecember treats the Earth, Sun,
and Moon as characters, while maintaining
an amusing playfulness.

Poetry of dress"I wear a literature
as one would wear a gown;
poetry
of dress"
apostrophe encircling my shoulders
slipping my hands into my silken symbolism
and stepping with achromatic onomatopoeia
binding my hair with invocation,
beads and little pearls
of alliteration
lacing up my analogy
with gossamer strings of metaphor and simile
the diction is thick yet delicate,
cultured but easily worn by all
not too colloquial
and elegant enough
that my voice is clear
in the ruffles of syntax
and that the colors don't affect the mood,
a soft mood worn about me like a cloak
woven with tone,
threaded by atmosphere
to dance a plot,
waltz a verse
wearing poetry of dress

"Poetry of Dress" by LoveDestructive

Poetry is always being compared to emotions
or something significant, but the unique dressing up
of writing and being a writer in this poem is just
profound and so fresh. The lexis used and the
structure makes this a perfect read. Beautiful.

In a comment left on this poem,
pseudometry said "This is raw, yet
deliberate, and every word cuts"
and I can think of no better way to
describe such a heartfelt piece of writing.

The depth of emotion and human-ness
explored in this piece of prosetry is
breathtaking. Read this one over and over.
You will find something new to love each time.
