I find it difficult, and silly :), to make a
comment longer than the poem I am commenting
on, but I was really touched by the image in this
piece and the humor in the author's comment.

With a sense of serenity that is somewhat
paradoxical in comparison, the turbulent ocean of this
poem speaks softly through its beautiful diction.

"The Phoenix's Revival" by Amriah

An unusual piece, this is an example of how
rules can be broken. It is made up of telling, with very
little showing. It suits the tone, however, which is a
strange and addictive poetical science that draws the
reader threw the piece. This means that the rare occasions
of 'show' are even more powerful, bonding the reader
to the character. A strangely moving piece of science fiction.

Mysterious EncounterA torn piece of black satin flailed in the wind carelessly as the cool breeze swept through the deserted cobblestone streets. The sun shone down on the city causing great monstrous shadows to loom across a large park where the satin tossed about. Few people were out and those that were had long black coats protecting their bodies from the harsh northern wind.
Faint chaotic footsteps were heard from the park. A small figure dressed in rags and a cape of scrapped grey cotton, flew down the street clumsily. He was not more than 10 years old and his face was smudged with dirt. His skin was darker than those around him, the dirt having dyed it a permanent grey hue. In his small hand he held a stick he’d broken off a tree and was waving it through the air as he chased after the black satin.
“Come back here you fiend!” He yelled out, causing those around him to look in his direction and move away quickly. “Ha! You coward, I’ve got you now!” He exclaimed as he cli

"Mysterious Encounter” by Star-mysteress

This short story tells us of a boy,
his imagination, and an old man who hasn’t
forgotten his childhood. It is, in a word,
enchanting.
