I took offMy day off.
I stand in sunlight
without asking.
I can watch it being day.
The mud is soft and cool at home.
I'd bury well without a casket,
I’ll be a naked pill for earth.
I build a garden box from wood,
smash my thumb.
Red bell
peppers;
too late for lettuce.
I had a premonition
I would live like this.
No one will remember me.
I’ll forget by Tuesday.

I took off by spoems

Suggester says: "There's one line in
particular I like about this wonderful,
simple poem by a writer who often writes
poetry a bit more complex. But there are
still many layers to read here, too."

The Jersey Devil by scatteredwords

Tense, mysterious, sad -
the old legend thrums
through the poet's words,
straight to the reader's heart.

The Antagonist by SubjugatedSandwich

A clever and interesting vignette
about the introduction of a villain
for seemingly no reason. Except,
every story needs a villain, right?

100 Nonfiction Books (by Genre) by Vigilo

Here's a presentation of prose by a poet
listing many interesting books, complete
with short blurbs by the writer and deciding
factors for most of them. Enjoy.

bataillonje ne peux plus
fortifier
mon cœur de guerre
contre toi ;
tu es un mort
en miniature,
une petite exécution.
chaque fois que j’essaie
de regarder tes yeux
sans reculer,
je suis assassinée.
et tu me dis
“dans ce monde,
on est ou on suit.”
je suis.

bataillon by toxic-nebulae

It's the wonderful pun that finishes
this poem that convinced me it was
brilliant. It's all translated, by the
way, so don't hesitate to jump in!
