The water, and everything-to Virginia
The river needed you, pockets stone-heavy
and gray as cloud as you walked, sailing,
to the lighthouse. You were Rhoda
in her paper boats, fleet sinking one
by one by one by one by one more until
tempest-stressed, you sank, slipping
timid through the rocks, toes rooted
beneath the water, beneath the earth--
to that space, where everything is linked
to everything else and everything

Yet there it was again, he could feel the vibrations in his chair! His wife's obvious inability to hear it made him loathe to admit this, however, and he slouched lower under the breakfast table, observing her over the top of the business section.
She was an uncanny creature, he had to admit. Their courtship had been brief and perfunctory, more compelled into occ
The Angel in the House by ~orphicfiddler
A delightfully chilling story that takes
a favorite mythical creature and makes it sinister.

The suggester said: "the melancholy contrast
of the vibrant, young girl and her tired grandmother
is so strong in this piece, only adding to its beauty.
its depth of feeling and striking images are sure to
