"Thoughtful Pirate" by: TheWordWhisperer93
"Thoughtful Pirate" is the type of poem that isn't seen
often anymore--one with a strong rhythm, as well as a strong
rhyme scheme. The use of the pirate metaphor really worked
well with the subject and the word choices.

My love's unclosed case by uniquePoetry
A wonderful diverse range of linguistic devices to
convey a unique perspective on love. Not only is the
imagery stark and real, the tone and narrative stance
is easily relatable and very well constructed.

ResolveWalk in the sand, drown your dry cracked feet in the ground.
Step on ideas of glass empires, visions of what the dust has been.
Beyond the curving dunes you feel the antispace, the vacuum of possibility.
Step forward, human child, relentlessly drawn into the coming dayfall.
Light shower your nakedness in the potential final dawn.
Leaving red steps in your wake will show your juggernaut resolve,
and you must point your heels in all directions. Let nobody think
that you were ever sure of where to go. Mark the journey,
because it outlives the destination that will devour your body.
Nothing runs like the horizon, until you lift your eyes.

Resolve by neonxaos
With boundless phrasing, neonxaos takes us to
the edge of infinity, and then reminds us that is
where we've always been.

"Wanting" by random-kumquats
Earthy and blunt, this piece makes good use of
second person to involve the reader. It imposes
emotions onto the person, seductively drawing them in.
The forbidden fruit concept provides the perfect
lustful ending.

It’s kinda sad that I’m even thinking of such things but I’m past my freak out point.
Mostly.
Maybe.
I hope?

It’s so dark here and I’m so cold.  My hands hurt so bad.  There’s not enough room for me to punch or kick away the walls.  I was trying to push/peal away the lid but succeeded only in scraping off my skin.  A lot of my skin.
I’d say I’d been in here for weeks but being that I need water every 3 days to survive, I’m sure it’s been less.
There’s no sun, no light.  I’m not buried as I would have heard the dirt being piled on top.  It’s more like I’m alone in some windowless, doorless room but I have no way to judge the size.  I’ve tried to listen but I can’t hear anything.  I s
