Fast FoodSkin slips away from my fingertips
and falls in a white froth
like butter melting in a skillet
on a long chrome stove
a few squirts and there's ketchup
lips, hair, gaze
All Glistening.
Thoughts swirl in my head
the way steam rises from a burger
Somehow I can tell that smug smile gives french-fry kisses,
salty and addicting
My eyes are singed by your firecracker freckles
All Sizzling.
The din in my head is matched
by the hollow murmur of this restaurant
gingham tablecloth
(awkward conversation)
It's all I can do to keep from glancing
Tell me, are you noticing?
Following the spiderwebs that crawl up my thighs
the fingers twisting into curls
the autumn leaf imprisoned in my ribcage
All Falling
I never knew a ballgown would go so well with crutches.

This poem seethes with mouth watering
 aromas, inspiring a consumptive infatuation.

Future FatherI'd like to be a father of something in the future;
Though as to it's nature – I remain unsure.
Should it actually be born, I'd like to see it grow.
Having often marveled at spherical form
I've encouraged an axis to spin
On a passionate whim.
If only I could baby-talk a star into acting
As a surrogate Sun ;
Perhaps it could be done.
In a place not so far, far, away
I've encountered an alien concept -
On the outreaches of human logic.
They'll say I've birthed notions, not nations.
All may deny the tangible thought
That idealistic hands have wrought.
Yet
I'd like to be the father of something in the future.
And so I turn the page
And name a thing – in the blank expanse of space.

Future Father by DefinitiveContent
This poem weaves metaphoric yarn into
the subconsciousness with exceptional skill
and grace.

Wild Hunt :: LongmaLike any good story, this one does not begin where it began. It does, however, begin where it ends—at a funeral.
The village was not particularly big. Rather, it was frightfully small, and just as frightfully remote. That said, it was little surprise that every denizen turned out for something so important as the funeral of a good man.
—and it truly was each and every one: every man, woman, and child; every son, brother, and father; every maiden, mother, and crone. It was said even the dogs followed at the heels of their masters, even the songbirds gathered in the trees, and the livestock unable to free themselves from their pens bowed their heads in respect. But the story that is still told to this day was how the most notable guest at the funeral of Bai Huan was his finest (and only) stallion.

From the Suggester: "A lovely fairytale
 - with the lovely hint of Chinese in its
title and characters - told in a true
storytelling way, vague, beautiful, and
flowing, like a river of language."

"Smile Forever Pt. 1" by TheStorageGnome
This romance is particularly pleasing
because of the attention to detail in the
writer's efforts to create a fantasy world.
From phrases to food, everything is recreated
outside of the norm, yet maintains just
enough familiarity to be captivating and coherent.
 Excellent fantasy fiction.

Luna MenguanteMedia sonrisa en el espacio,
Ya no sé si esto es el ocaso
O tan sólo estoy perdido una vez más en tu sonrisa.
Me creí el dueño de tus cráteres,
El único amante de tu imagen;
Tu luz llega a mis ojos.
Pero hoy, Luna menguante.
Menguante, Y tan sólo el filo de tus labios.
Mañana quién sabe si he de verte.
Deseo volar…
Levitar a tu lado
Y con el filo de mis labio

Luna menguante by LuISbroken
A poem dedicated to the moon.
 The close relationship between her
and this world.
