Other:
There are many types of abuse, from sexual, physical, emotional, mental and more. Some of us have experienced abuse, whether it is from our parents, our friends, or people we don’t know.

We hope to raise more awareness with this contest and we hope to encourage you to do your own research for this piece.

As you have seen, the entry must be fiction and it must be prose. Although personal experiences can aid you in this contest, we would like you to empathise with what people around the world are going through. If you are familiar with one or more types of abuse, don’t write about it. Instead, write about an abuse you’re not that familiar with and challenge yourself.

Here are some organisations that might help:

National Domestic Violence Hotline: [link]
Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network: [link]
Samaritans: [link]
Harmless: [link]
Self Injury: [link]

If you would like to donate something to this contest, please send a note to =3wyl titled "DLD’s Contest Donation". We would really appreciate the support!

Do not send submissions or donations to =DailyLitDeviations. These will be deleted.

Please, take your time and have fun. If you have any questions with anything, don’t hesitate to contact me.

deviantID

Daily Literature Deviations is a group dedicated to promoting the work of Literature artists here on deviantArt.

By showcasing one featured Daily Deviation per day the Literature Gallery Moderators provide the community with a showcase of excellence in Literature. In contrast, we will be showcasing excellence with a series of literature pieces each day in a News article to serve the community. We are a diverse group featuring 5 pieces of quality literature every day. In such a large community many artists feel that their work goes unnoticed.

We are here to help change that!

Please show your support by Reading and :+fav:ing the News Article

Wow. I never expected my writing to make it out of my scraps, least of all featured in a delightful group such as this!
Thanks so much!

Ever wanted to lay on a giant canvas covered in wet paint?

:icondavidrory:
I like the idea here but in practice there seems to be a huge number of very young earnest types. Great to encourage the young but I'd have liked to see balance here and I fail to see how that can be given the nature of how it works, teen keen dominates.
A minority old-fart.
I'll be stopping my watch but good luck and keep trying all you keen literary youth.
